Arts
Students at MCDS experience the value of individual creative expression, and a deeper understanding of the world around them, through the performing and visual arts (i.e. drawing, painting, printmaking, puppetry, sculpture, mixed media).
Students are introduced to a variety of musical and artistic styles (art history). Whenever possible, classroom cultural studies, social studies, writing and literature are interwoven into the art and music curriculum, as well as the drama productions. Though it varies by grade level, most students receive instruction in music/drama and art twice a week.
