Board of Trustees

Primary responsibilities of the Trustees are long-range planning; formulating policy; stewardship of the school's assets; selection and retention of, and providing advice to the Head of School; and representing MCDS in the larger community. The Board holds the school "in trust" for future generations of students and families. (View Roster).

Head of School

The Head is educational leader and is responsible for implementing Board policy, hiring faculty and professional staff and operational management of the school.

Parent Board

The Parent Board organizes and directs volunteer activities which enhance school life in concert with the policies of the Board of Trustees.

Administrative Team

Administrative Team members are the Head of School, Assistant Heads of the Lower and Upper Divisions, the Assistant Head for Finance and Operations, the Director of Communications and Indexed Tuition, the Director of Admission and Outreach, the Director of Development and the Assistant to the Head of School. They work individually and collectively to support the Head in operational management of the school.

Faculty

MCDS teachers are intelligent, warm and passionate men and women who support students’ personal and academic growth. They are dedicated to helping children become skilled learners who will understand and embrace the unusual opportunity and capacity they have to work toward a better world.

Students

MCDS actively seeks to build a community that reflects the diversity of race, ethnicity, economic circumstances, family structure and lifestyles of the greater Bay Area. The school believes that girls and boys have much to learn from each other, and that by drawing students from both Marin and San Francisco, the fabric of school life is enriched.

Professional Staff

Professional staff teams include Admission, Business Office, Communications, Development, Food Services, Facilities, Office and Transportation. Like the teachers, they are here to work in support of children and to advance the school's mission.
