Companion Programs

MCDS offers students a variety of enriching and engaging companion programs both after school and during the summer.  Our summer program, Beyond Borders, is open to both MCDS and non-MCDS students alike.

(After-School Handbook:  MCDS Parents -- the After-School Handbook can be found in the Parent Portal under "Handbooks." To log into the Parent Portal, click on "Community Login." )

MCDS Parents: To register for ASAP and/or FORTE, log onto the Parent Portal and look for the FORTE and ASAP links on the Parent Portal page.

Forte

This after-school performing arts program fosters a non-competitive, child-centered environment where students may immerse themselves in musical study. Students learn technique, ear training, theory, reading, and improvisation.

PM

MCDS offers an after-school program (PM) for children in Grades K-5 that provides a safe, caring, stimulating and playful environment.

The PM Program provides a blend of structured and self-directed activities in an informal atmosphere. Activities may include indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, cooking, free play and informal sports activities. PM also provides time for homework, relaxation and exploration. An afternoon snack is provided as well.

ASAP

With after-school classes designed to stimulate a child's natural curiosity, the ASAP Program offers unique opportunities for children to interact with friends in an in-depth study of a particular area of interest. Classes cover a broad range of subjects from science, arts and crafts, and sports, to chess, cooking, and martial arts. Classes are held Monday through Friday and meet once a week for 10 weeks.
