Handbooks
The school Handbooks are designed to complement the Family Handbook. Supplementing these two documents are the MCDS Course Descriptions (updated in early September each year) and individual course expectations and policies distributed by teachers to students during the first few weeks of school. The purpose of this material is to provide clear, effective communication for students, parents, teachers and other interested people about all areas of life in MCDS. In order to conserve paper, we will only be sending hard copies of the Handbook to families new to a division. All others can access the Handbook online. Significant changes will be indicated.
Please note that these handbooks were written for a variety of audiences. Certain sections, which explain policies, rules, and procedures students are expected to know and follow are listed in bold in the Table of Contents below and appear in blue. Students and their parents should read these pages carefully. All changes that have been made since last year appear in red. Please review them thoroughly. The other sections are descriptive and attempt to answer questions typically asked by parents, prospective parents, teachers, and other adults. It is also important that students and parents read the MCDS Family Handbook, paying close attention to those policies regarding general student behavior at MCDS.
