Transportation
With 24 bus stops in San Francisco and 16 in Marin County, the MCDS transportation department upholds our founder's mission: to blend urban and suburban families and teachers, creating a community enriched by multiple perspectives.
All MCDS buses are owned by the school and meet strict safety and repair requirements. They are inspected regularly by state safety officials and daily by the drivers. MCDS bus service is operated by the school's own transportation department, consisting of seven dedicated bus drivers and ten buses all held to strict safety standards.
Bus routes are determined by ridership, safety and length of time.

What do MCDS families say about the bus?
Easy Access to Nature
"As city folk who often have fog in the mornings, we put sunscreen on our kids each morning knowing they are going to get that Marin sunshine during the day. For my kids to be able to grow up in the beauty of Marin nature and return safely back to the city we love has been a magical experience for all of us." - SF Parent

Best of Both Worlds
“MCDS is the best of both worlds -- indoor/outdoor learning with a spacious campus and urban backdrop. We walk our son a couple of blocks to the bus stop every day, and it makes MCDS feel like it’s right around the corner." - SF Parent
"As a Marin parent who used to live in the city, being at MCDS keeps San Francisco present in our family's day to day life. Although our children do not ride the bus regularly, they enjoy the adventure, and we appreciate the convenience of the bus for activities and play dates in SF and Marin." - Marin Parent
