Campus Tours

Step one of the admission process, and a vital part of learning about MCDS, is the Campus Tour. All prospective parents and guardians are invited to tour our naturally beautiful 35-acre campus to:

    • See students learning in action inside and outside classrooms
    • Hear from MCDS community leaders
    • Talk to current parents about their experience at MCDS
    • Meet the admission team and learn about next steps in applying

Evening Events

STEAM Focused Reception

Tuesday, November 13, 6:30-8:00 pm @ MCDS

Join us to hear about our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) curriculum. Students, teachers, administrators, and parents will showcase projects and pedagogy and shed light on what our students and teachers experience in these in depth, hands on units of study. This event will touch on both lower school and upper school STEAM curriculum.

Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Focused Reception in SF

Tuesday, November 27, 7:00-8:30 pm @ The Urban School SF (St. Agnes Gym 1563 Page St. San Francisco, CA 94117)

Parents/guardians of potential applicants who are interested in learning more about MCDS are welcome to join us for this gathering. As an extension to our commitment nurturing a diverse and inclusive community, we invite all prospective parents/guardians to join us for a short program and informational conversation with MCDS parents, teachers, students and administrators.

One of our goals is to acknowledge, understand and embrace diversity of all forms. In support of this goal the board adopted our Statement of Community Inclusion in 2010. This event offers an opportunity to explore our community connections based on ability, age, ethnicity, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic class.

Curriculum Focused Reception

Wondering how our teachers and administrators plan engaging curriculum within a progressive and traditional pedagogical blend that holds students to a high standard? Join us for an opportunity to learn how students are assessed, how units are developed, and how teams of teachers collaborate to develop meaningful, rigorous learning experiences for range of learners in each classroom. Upper School Open House

Wednesday, January 9, 6:45-9pm @ MCDS

This event is a chance for students and parents/guardians interested in the grades 5-8 to visit our Upper School together. Attend for an opportunity to meet our Upper School faculty, learn about curriculum and student life and attend "mini-classes." Light refreshments will be served.

Families of Color Affinity Reception

Wednesday, February 6, 6:30-8 pm (location TBA)

Please join us for an evening to mix and mingle with current teachers, parents, and trustees in an affinity space for people/families of color. You will have another opportunity to talk to our community members about what it is like to be a family of color at MCDS, as well as hear from a few wonderful speakers.  If you would like to attend this event, please RSVP below, and we will send more details. Adults only, please; refreshments provided.

We understand that the term people of color may or may not fit an individual’s personal preference on how they identify. It is, however, a term that MCDS and NAIS (National Association of Independent Schools) commonly use.
