Inclusion and Belonging

Welcome to Marin Country Day School (MCDS), where we believe that excellent teaching needs to include equity at the center of all learning. We strive to live out our mission of being an “inclusive community of learning that inspires curiosity, empathy, and action.”

From its inception in 1956 in Fairfax, California, MCDS has committed itself to intercultural exploration and appreciation of differences, where “we are all responsible for actively helping build and cultivate our multifaceted community by developing cultural competency.”

At MCDS, we instill a welcoming environment of collaboration, with a sense of pride for our shared common humanity and a deep connection to nature and the world around us. The spirit of joy permeates our learning spaces and a community of belonging is consistently being crafted by our students, families, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends.

Whether you are a prospective or current student, family, or employee, we invite you to explore the many ways we connect as a community, reflect on our identities, maintain our curiosity about ourselves and others, and partner together to respectfully support our students, families, and each other.
